Rapture in Misery 12 Solo

It's go time for me. Just got back from a spin on the mountain bike making sure the new cables are good to go and everything is working right. It was. My legs felt great and it was hard to keep the reigns tight and deprive myself of that endorphin rush I have been thriving on for the last couple months of hard training. I figure that I about 85-90% ready for this one and hope to build some more endurance, race long again in Sept and then at the Burning race in October.

I still have to see how I'm going to fit all the lights, spare Garmin battery, extra cage and flat kit on the bike. Then I am going to lay out the nutrition plan, label and mix the bottles, put the new rubber on the bike and go get an hour massage. I'm pretty exited about the massage seeing as how I have only had one other one in my life... I've got the Ipod ready with 8 hrs of pure high intensity Phish jams... They would drive most people to jump off a bridge or put a loaded weapon in their mouth but for me it's pure eargasmic pleasure. I had goosebumps for most of my ride today and it was 90+ out. I've been listening to a lot of the Dead lately but I am trading in that rusty old V-Dub bus for a shiny new Ferrari piloted by Big Red himself, Mr. Ernsest (Trey) Giusuppe Anastasio.

Jen, Adrienne and I are going to leave first thing Friday morning, set up the EZ-ups and pre-ride the course. Adrienne is supporting me and I can't thank her enough for being so stoked about it! Jen and Robert Edwards are racing the 6 hr solo and Liz is going to help support all of us. Hopefully the beer will be nice and cold by the time I'm done.

Lastly my new team kit came in today. The polyester might be a little warm but at least I'll feel good about the way I look when I die of heat exhaustion...
