Wow, has it been that long since I have deprived my loyal reader? I'm really sorry John, I can hear Hot Rod yelling at you to get out of the office as you stroke your beard and repeatedly hit refresh. Like I said I'm sorry.
So last weekend was my first crit of the season. I felt great. I watched Chris Rottiger dominate the womens 4's field with the big money move going into the last corner. Nice job Chris!
Mesa was at the front of the 3/4's race the entire race. Working it. It was impressive team work for a 3's race. Racing as a team for the team. Nice.
I used Chris's move and attacked the leadout group going into the last corner on the bell lap. I dove outside and snapped away from them pretty quick. Somehow Big Gear Barbados (multiple time Barbados National Champion) jumped on my wheel. Downhill sprint, big dude who outweighs me by a wheel barrell full of coconuts, and oh yeah, he can freakin sprint. So I got second. First Loser. The worst part is I tried to get him on Mesa but it didn't happen. I guess there's only room for one REALLY big black dude on Mesa, my man Lonnie.
Carlitos is going to be tearing things up in the 1/2's shortly. He got 3rd at Froze Toes because "some tall white squirrly fucker with long hair rode me into the ditch in the sprint, mon. I'm going to catch up with him, mon, and he's going to wish I hadn't." He was reffering to Steve Tillford. When Carlitos asked told Mike Weiss his creditials apparently Mike didn't believe him and wouldn't give him a 2 liscense. Mike, if you are reading this, please hook him up!
Speaking of total sandbaggers, anyone who has raced as a 3 in Missouri in the last decade probably knows of Ryan Halloran. This guy has won more 3's races than most 3's will race before they upgrade. Let it be known that I'm not going to complain to any officials, but I may have to pull a Murphy and show him where the corn grows. He is the Jedi Sandbagger.
Other than that my dumb ass was installing new brakes and rotors on the Rowdy Audi yesterday in preparation for the rode trip to the Dogwood Road Race this weekend and missed the socket wrench with the hammer and hit myself with full force across the back of my hand. Why was I hitting the socket wrench with the hammer you ask? Exactly. Jen's driving to work today, hopefully they work, good thing I have her as the guinea pig. Thanks hot sauce :)
Tonight I head to Dogwood Road Race, I painted a big ol' confederate flag on the sides of the Audi just to fit in. Hopefully they will appreciate that and not burn me on a cross for driving a foreign car.
